Page meta descriptions are the little snippets you see underneath your site name in Google search results, and are invaluable for improving your Google ranking. You only get about 160 characters but if you can keep them informative and imaginative whilst getting your main keyword phrase in there it’ll do your search engine ranking no end of good.
But how do you get them on to your site? The easiest way is to use an SEO plugin such as Yoast (others are available).
To use Yoast to do it, install and activate the plugin, then go to your page or post and scroll down until you come to the Yoast SEO section, click ‘Edit snippet’, and off you go!
