Why I created a template website package for charities and value-led small businesses

Over the last nine years, I’ve worked with dozens of charities, community groups, and ethical small businesses to build accessible, bespoke websites. It’s work I’m proud of - supporting organisations doing good in the world and making sure their websites are clear, inclusive, and easy to manage.

But over the last year or so, something’s changed.

Funding for small charities has become even harder to secure, at the same time as costs have risen. For community groups and CICs, it's just about completely disappeared.

Now more than ever, many of the people I speak to are overstretched, juggling multiple roles, and need a website quickly, often without the time or budget for a fully bespoke build. I’ve also had enquiries from ethical small businesses and startups who share the same values but simply can’t afford a custom project.

At the same time, I’ve felt the need to find a more sustainable way to keep running my own business as I'm facing similar pressures. I want to continue helping the organisations I care about, but I also need to look after my own time, energy, and long-term plans.

That’s why I created a pre-built website package.

These aren’t “off-the-shelf” in the way many template sites are. They’re built with the same care and accessibility standards as my bespoke work, but they’re ready to go - saving time, reducing costs, and simplifying the process. Each site can still be tailored to reflect your identity and goals, but the technical foundation is already there.

It’s a way of offering something solid, practical, and accessible to more people, without compromising on quality or ethics.

If you’re part of a small charity, a social enterprise, or a values-led business that needs a professional website without the faff, I’d love to tell you more. You can read about the charities package here, or the small business package here. Or why not  just get in touch for a chat?
