The RW Mann Trust

The RW Mann Trust are a grant-making charitable trust which supports organisations north of the Tyne and into south east Northumberland in their endeavours to improve the lives of people in the local community.

I met the director of the Trust as we made our way up the stairs to an event at North Tyneside VODA and we immediately hit it off, so I was more than happy to help when he told them that the Trust needed a new site.

I was a bit confused about why they needed a new site because yes, the old one was very dated, but to be honest there’s not much to a Trust’s website – it just gives information about the Trust, who they support and how to apply. And they’re not interested in branding or marketing or SEO because, quite frankly, if you’re giving money away you really don’t need to advertise!

However, they had two big problems to solve: one was that the old site wasn’t specific about which organisations the Trust would support. And the other was that the old site was so out of date that they struggled to keep it up to date.

So that was where I came in. I built their new site, provided training videos so that they can never forget how to update it, and rewrote the text to make it much clearer about who was eligible for support.

This turned out to be a lovely little job which helped out one organisation that supports many others too. I like to think that I had a small part to play in getting the funding to the right people.
